The Office of Alumni Relations hosts a number of events each year in support of Christopher Newport alumni, students, faculty, staff and our community. We provide alumni with meaningful support and to connect them with their alma mater no matter their geographic location, affinity groups of interest, or preference for engagement. From your home here on campus to cities coast-to-coast, we always enjoy celebrating all that it means to be a Captain for Life!
On-Campus
Even after our time as students at Christopher Newport, we remain tied to our alma mater - and to each other. As proud members of the Captains community, we volunteer, we network, we engage, and we share in the unrivaled spirit of CNU. No matter where our lives of significance take us, we will always proudly return to this place we call home. Your Gregory P. Klich Alumni House serves as a permanent home for our alumni, welcoming them anytime they return to campus and to serve as a space for gathering, reuniting and celebrating what it means to be a Captain for Life..
Each year we look forward to campus coming alive with laughter and spirit as we welcome parents, siblings, grandparents and more to Family Weekend. The weekend's festivities include the family weekend musical showcase, tailgating, a home football game and our annual Ring Ceremony. The Office of Alumni Engagement hosts a newer tradition - the annual Legacy Family Tailgate - prior to the big game, in celebration of alumni parents,grandparents, siblings, cousins, and more, returning to share their Alma Mater with current Captains.

Each year, we look forward to the energy and excitement of Homecoming weekend. Whether you want to spend the day on the green at James River Country Club for a round of golf with the Peninsula Alumni Chapter, enjoy Shoe Lane Lights on Walker's Green at the Gregory P. Klich Alumni House, join an affinity group celebration, or just tailgate with your friends in Alumni Alley before the football game, we have you covered!
